Disagreement on LLMs: Yann LeCun vs Geoffrey Hinton Debate

The interesting point is that Yann LeCunn thinks the current LLM models are mostly regurgitating what they’ve been trained on / while Geoffrey thinks there is a deeper understanding of the world going on. The fundamental view difference of how LLMs work by the two most respected people in the field is an amazing illustration of how much disagreement is on how LLMs work.
