Troubleshooting Blank Screen Issue in Playground Tool Calling

Hi, I was trying out the Playground and I managed to trigger a blank screen.

1.
Open Playground from an existing trace (containing function calling if that matters)
2.
Scroll to the bottom of the Prompt section on the left and click to add a Message
3.
Change the message type to AI
4.
Select "Tool Calling"

Note that the window goes blank. I don't see any errors in the browser console or container logs. Is there anything I can do to better troubleshoot this?

Awesome, thanks. This is locally in a Docker container.

That's a good find. Did the message in the trace contain both a tool call and message content? Also which AI provider?

This trace has a system message, a user message, then a sequence of tool calls and responses, ending in a tool call. (the final tool call is in the output window on the right)

I was trying to move the output on the right over into the prompt on the left, and that's when I encountered this situation

Did you use the "move" button or did you copy it yourself

I'm not seeing a move button on the Output side. I was trying to enter it manually, but I only got as far as the steps above.

What version of Phoenix are you running?

I tried it on 7.9.0 first, but I pulled the latest docker image and tried it locally to confirm it wasn't a version issue.

hmm yeah I can't replicate from a blank instance of playground, so it must somehow be related to the trace. That is odd as well because you are adding a new message (which should be unrelated to the original trace)
