Help Needed: ConnectionError with HTTPConnectionPool on localhost

Hi, Can anyone help me with the below error ConnectionError(e, request=request)\nrequests.exceptions.ConnectionError: HTTPConnectionPool(host='localhost', port=4318): Max retries exceeded with url: /v1/traces. I am able to see the traces on the UI correctly but this error is seen in the logs.

Hi Ruchika! If you're able to see traces come in to the UI but have intermittent connection errors, it probably means that something it making the connection to your Phoenix instance unreliable. It's possible that your throughput is so high that sometimes your requests fail, but you might want to look into how often you're getting connection errors. Are you sending in traces from multiple sources? Or just one notebook/process?

Multiple sources, And this errror which I get is received only for one the source for others I am not getting this error

Are they different machines? Do they all have different IP addresses?

No not difficult machine, actually I got confuse with the sources the entire codebase is same and running within one machine different apis basically

I'd try to make sure that every process is configured to hit the right API

That error means you're running into connection issues, without more details I don't know if I can give more specific advice unfortunately

I would definitely double check that you are setting the phoenix collector endpoint correctly

we do not default to port 4318

I am not setting it to 4318 it is in the opentelemetry/exporter/otlp/proto/http/trace_exported/init.py__ I see the url set to http://localhost//4318

You need to configure the PHOENIX_COLLECTOR_ENDPOINT environment variable to the host:port address your Phoenix server is listening to

are you setting up your trace exporters manually?
