Request for Official Linux/ARM Image for M1 Mac

Hey there, another thing. There is no official image for linux/arm (I am using a M1 mac). Would you provide one? Could I be of any help?

currently dockerhub doesn’t support automated ARM builds. so we have to explore other options

Thank you Roger! Right now this does not seem to cause problems (I am only testing locally). Do you recommend to take the same dockerfile and build the image myself? Or do you think you should look at docker buildx (I guess? not at all a Docker expert) and in your CI publish two different versions of the same tag, one for each platform? Out of curiosity, how do other libraries do this?

i’d need to check with the docker experts on my team, but i think yes it would need to be built separately, but I myself am not sure how the publishing will be handled or how other libraries do it

Hey Roger Y. curious if there was there any update on this? We want to deploy a phoenix server for our LLM application and though this image will likely work in the server we deploy to, I'm not sure how to test this phoenix server on my mac (outside of just using the notebook approach, which i've done) Apart from a different arm64 based image, are there any other ways i can test the server on my machine ?

Swaraj R. we currently don't have infra to build multiple images. But you still can run the image on mac (at least I can). You can build an image locally if needed for mac. The dockerfile is at the root of the repo

test this phoenix server on my mac
this image will sill work on mac even thought the arch is amd. (it works on my mac which has M1)
